About Us

Our Story

Lalor Family Dental is a family owned and operated dental practice in Upstate New York and has been serving the community since 1964. We are privately held and not a DSO. The practice was started by Dr. Robert T. Lalor and is now run by his son, Dr. Robert Lalor and his wife, Dr. Mary John. We have grown from a single five-operatory office in 1964 to five locations and counting. One of them is a pediatric only practice. Over the years we have had many doctors join the team; some reside locally, and some have continued to commute from the greater New York City area for over ten years. We are very proud of our team, the quality of care we offer to our patients, and the culture we have built. We invite you to check us out and learn more about us!

Remembering Robert T. Lalor, D.D.S.

Our Founder

Dr. Robert T. Lalor, better known as Doc, was raised in the Bronx, NY. He graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame. He continued on to Columbia University, where he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1961. In the early 1960s, Doc and his wife spent three years in New Mexico for the Public Health Service and provided dentistry to Navajo Indians. They went on to be the proud parents of five children. Dr. Lalor opened his practice at 9 Tioga Blvd, Apalachin, NY in 1964. He provided dental care to the community for almost 50 years before his retirement in June 2011. Doc passed away peacefully in December 2017 surrounded by his family. We pride ourselves on continuing the precedent he set for providing exceptional patient care and always giving back to our community.
